Washington, D.C. - President Trump's A Budget for a Better America shows just how strong a stand the Trump Administration is willing to take to eliminate HIV/AIDS in the United States. The FY2020 budget provides the Department of Health and Human Services with $291 million to aggressively reduce the number of new HIV infections through targeted campaigns and expanded referral, testing, care and treatment. The President's budget also provides $3.4 billion for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and a commitment of up to $3.3 billion to incentivize international investments into the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director Jerri Ann Henry issued the following statement in response:

"With Congressional approval and strategic implementation, the Initiative to End the HIV Epidemic in America could be President Trump's greatest legacy. For the gay community and the millions of Americans who witnessed the devastation that this virus wrought on their families, loved ones, and communities, President Trump's initiative means they will live to see the day that the U.S. eradicates this disease once and for all. Log Cabin Republicans is dedicated to supporting the Administration in these efforts."
