Republicans Aren't Willing to Wait On the Budget
(Washington, DC) – Log Cabin Republicans support House Republicans plan to create an environment for private sector job growth by cutting spending and removing red tape and barriers to job creation.
"Americans from coast to coast sit down and have to make budgets for their households, their small businesses, because that is the responsible thing to do.
The Republican leadership, joined by commonsense Democrats, recognizes that important responsibility in setting a budget for the country.
President Barack Obama and Senator Harry Reid are standing in the way, abdicating their responsibility.
Passing the budget proposed by Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) is vital to reducing the deficit, spurring job creation and keeping Medicare solvent," said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director.
"It has been 1,056 days since Democrats in Congress have allowed a budget to pass, and in that time President Obama's failed policies have put America on an unsustainable course. Far from cutting the deficit in half as promised, President Obama has now created more new debt than any president in history.
Congressman Ryan is right - in 2010, voters demanded an alternative to the direction government was taking the country.
Republican leaders aided by pragmatic Democrats have responded with a path to prosperity that offers real solutions to responsibly reform our entitlement programs, balance the budget over time, and foster economic growth and opportunity.
We can't wait anymore to put our nation's economy back on track."
