Georgia Log Cabin Republicans' Statement on President Trump Nominating Kavanaugh as US Supreme Court Justice

Atlanta, GA - Tonight, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be the newest US Supreme Court Justice. This move replaces Justice Anthony Kennedy who has decided to retire this year. Kavanaugh's experience includes clerking for pro-gay Justice Kennedy.

Georgia Log Cabin Republicans believe marriage equality is here to stay and we intend to fully support Judge Kavanaugh. We look forward to hearing Kavanaugh discuss pertinent issues facing gay Americans today during his confirmation hearings. Our hope is that Georgia's US Senators Isakson [R-GA] and Perdue [R-GA] will ultimately vote to confirm Kavanaugh.
