Log Cabin Republicans Relaunches Arizona Chapter
Phoenix, AZ and Washington, DC - The Log Cabin Republicans National Board of Directors is proud to announce the formal rechartering and relaunch of our Arizona Chapter. The organization's initiatives in the state will be headed by Daniel Cocce, who succeeds the Chapter's Immediate Past President Erin Ogletree and her work to reinvigorate LCR activity in the Grand Canyon State while successfully lobbying then-Governor Jan Brewer to veto the state's anti-gay S.B.1062 legislation in 2014.
"I am very proud to take on the role as the chapter leader of the Log Cabin Republicans of Arizona, which represents such a worthy cause," Cocce said. "Our state has a wide conservative population, and I am excited to see our chapter get involved and inform our state that our community has strong value within the Republican Party. This is our time to unite the Republican Party and make a difference in Arizona."
Log Cabin Republicans National PresidentGregory T. Angelo added:
"In this crucial election year, Mr. Cocce is poised to lead Log Cabin Republicans in a state that continues to light the path toward a more inclusive GOP. Both of Arizona's United States Senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake, voted for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act in 2013, the state's prior Republican Governor Jan Brewer vetoed potentially harmful anti-gay legislation in 2014, and the state's current Republican Governor Doug Ducey has boldly voiced his support for adoptions by same-sex couples in 2015. Now, in 2016, Log Cabin Republicans of Arizona is perfectly situated to assist the LCR National office in continued progress for common-sense conservative principles within the state and across the country."
