Log Cabin Republicans National Board Elects New Chairman
(Atlanta, GA) – Longtime Log Cabin leader Terry Hamilton is the organization's new national board Chairman. Board members selected Hamilton as Chairman at Log Cabin's annual meeting in Atlanta. "I'm humbled and honored to be selected for this important job," said Hamilton. "It's a critical time for the GOP and Log Cabin will play an important role in reshaping the Party's future."
Hamilton is an elementary school teacher from Pasadena, California. He has served in various local, state, and national roles with Log Cabin during the past 25 years. He was President of the Los Angeles Chapter during three separate terms. Hamilton has been Chairman of California Log Cabin for several years. Most recently, he was Secretary and then Vice Chairman of the national Log Cabin Board of Directors. He joined Log Cabin's board in 2004.
"I'm proud of the work Log Cabin has done in the last three decades," said Hamilton. "The challenging environment for the GOP provides Log Cabin with an important opportunity to make progress in our effort to build a new Republican majority."
Outgoing Chairman Pete Kingma from Chicago, who has been on Log Cabin's board for six years, will serve as Chairman Emeritus. Aside from Hamilton, the board reelected Jerry Katlin of Leawood, Kansas as Treasurer. Peter Bertelsen from Bozeman, Montana will serve as Vice-Chairman and Jamie Ensley from Atlanta, Georgia will be Secretary.
