(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Log Cabin Republicans Chairman Terry Hamilton released the following statement following the 2009 National Dinner speakers:

In response to Meghan McCain's speech, Log Cabin Republicans spokesman Hamilton remarked: "Meghan McCain shows that there isn't one set of guidelines that must be met to qualify as a member of the Republican Party. GLBT issues fit in a new Republican agenda that is refocused on advancing our core Republican values of reducing the size of the federal government, emphasizing personal freedoms and celebrating liberty, and focused on the issues that truly matter to the people of this country."

In response to tonight's national dinner, Log Cabin Republicans Spokesman Charles T. Moran released the following statement:

"Americans from across the nation are joining with us in our work to make the Republican Party more inclusive, diverse, and relevant. Meghan McCain, the eight Vermont Republican legislators, and former Congressman Tom Davis, all of which we honored tonight, are examples of the growing support we are gaining. Log Cabin Republicans continue to be active in the local, state, and national dialogue on the future of our Party."

The dinner took place tonight as part of a larger convention and symposium that was held at the Washington Westin City Center hotel.
