Log Cabin Vice President Appointed To Cobb County Arts Board

(Atlanta, GA) – Georgia Log Cabin Republicans is proud to announce the appointment of Tyllmann H. Wald to the Cobb County Arts Board. Mr. Wald serves as Georgia Log Cabin Vice President for Campaigns and Issues. Cobb County Commissioner Sam Olens, a Republican, named Mr. Wald to the Arts Board in February of this year.

"I am very honored and humbled by this appointment and the opportunity to serve the people of Cobb County on their Arts Board. Commissioner Olens should be commended for his inclusiveness and his desire to represent all Cobb citizens," said Mr. Wald.

The Cobb County Arts Board is a division of the county's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs office. The 10 member advisory board votes and makes recommendations on numerous aspects of Cobb County's cultural and artistic affairs.

Recent actions of the board include the successful opening of the Mable House Cultural Center in Mableton and planning the upcoming re-opening of the Jennie Anderson Theater in the Cobb County Civic Center complex. Mr. Wald notes, "Cobb County citizens are very fortunate to have a wide array of cultural and artistic opportunities available to them."

The Arts Board, working with the County Commission, the Cobb School Board, private individuals and others hopes to increase and expand on those opportunities in the months and years ahead.

About Tyllmann H. Wald:

Tyllmann H. Wald has been a member of Georgia Log Cabin Republicans for the past two years, and was elected as a vice president for 1999. He graduated from Atlanta's Northside High School in 1982 and has lived in the Atlanta area for most of his life. He earned a Bachelor's degree in history and political science from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree in political science from Ohio State University.

In addition to his duties with Log Cabin Republicans and the Cobb Arts Board, Mr. Wald is an active member of the gay Episcopalian group Integrity, the Friends of Goethe, and serves on the Cobb County Republican Committee. He is also a founding member of Gays and Lesbians for Individual Liberty (GLIL), a Washington, D.C. based organization created to promote libertarian and free market principles within the gay community.

Mr. Wald is employed as a retirement plan administrator with Benetech Pension Services, Inc. He resides in Vinings.
