Time to Lead: End the Debate, Pass the Boehner Plan

(Washington, DC) - Log Cabin Republicans strongly urge Congress to support Speaker Boehner's plan to end the debt ceiling impasse.

"Congress must unite behind Speaker Boehner's proposal, for the good of our party, the good of the conservative movement and for the good of the nation," said R. Clarke Cooper, Executive Director Log Cabin Republicans. "We have an opportunity to set the agenda for the next ten years, and keep the focus on spending cuts. This is the first step in a course that will dramatically alter how our government approaches the budget and will provide fiscal stability for Wall Street and Main Street. While there is much more to do in this ongoing battle, absent a plan from President Obama, we need to take a first step. Congress is eager to advance an agenda focused on job creation, but this can only happen when spending cuts have been achieved. Congress, show the leadership America deserves. Close the deal and allow our nation to move forward down the path to prosperity."
